I've decided that I don't like not hearing from you, I guess I got lonely, LOL pathetic huh? So comments are on. I wanted to show you what arrived in the mail today, I was lucky enough to catch the sale over at Red Geranium Cottage. WHOO HOO! Thank you Sharon, the check is in the mail.. Honest!! Also thought I would give you a glimpse of what I'm making for the giveaway. Since I had to take on a another job to pay Sharon, I'm going to extend the deadline to Saturday nite. Actually I have a sew day planned with the Deb's and Holly on Saturday and won't have time to pick the winner until Sunday. Let me tell you, only 6 names are in the hat so far. It's really easy. Just read those italics and you'll either get it or go buggy! *wink* *wink* I've also been known to give out a few more clues if you send me a wrong guess. And now for something a little different from me, I'm attempting to grow my own food. I'm such a city girl. I actually planted a tomato plant. Say a little prayer that I don't kill it. I have such a black thumb. Any advice you could give would be appreciated. And no wagers as to how long I can keep it alive. And if you do wager, keep in mind the last time I tried gardening I gave it up for a year. I took a picture of my baby because I have great hopes of taking more glamour shots as it flourishes and produces. I'm thinking big red juicy homegrown tomatoes... yummmmmmm. I think I read somewhere that marigolds help keep bugs away, Hope that was right!

Ah, the fabric from Sharon, I was over at her house on the weekend and you should have seen all the stuff she had laid out that she is going to sell. I was soooo tempted! Your tomato plant looks healthy! When I lived in my apartment, I used to grow them in a pot in the patio, and it always worked well. You might want to get a cage for it to climb in, and get some snail/slug bait, they love tomato plants, cut worms do too, they have a powder you can sprinkle on that takes care of that. It's not a pesticide, just harmful to the worms. Good luck!

Oh those fabrics look devine!!! Tomatoes, down here we cover them in a plastic "glasshouse" till they are big and strong (we have heavy frosts!!!).......water is vitual and a slow release fertilizer for those early weeks and just make sure they get lots of light.........cant wait to see your crop!!!

You'll love being able to taste your own homegrown veggies--yum! And from the looks of it, you are going to enjoy some serious fabric fondling with your stacks until the toms do start to grow. Enjoy!

I have home grown tomatoes, too. Oh wait, no I don't - I get mine from the garden at the grocery store in the produce aisle. ROFLOL

Good luck with your 'garden' - I have a big black thumb so I don't even try.

There is nothing like the taste of a home-grown tomato fresh and still a little warm from the garden. Enjoy *s*

Good luck with your tomato! There is nothing like eating a tomato fresh off the vine. And yes, marigolds are good for keeping the pests away. I always have marigolds around my tomato plants.

I have a tomato plant in a pot that is coming back from last year. Cherry tomato's do great in pots..just don't let it dry out. Slow deep waterings. Good luck!

What wonderful fabric from Sharon! I was too late to buy any of it, but I'm on a fabric diet, so that's a good thing.
Your plants look so sweet! I fertilize my outdoor potted plants once a month with Miracle Grow (or is it Gro?), and they do really well.
